Weed comes in different types, and to understand what the effect will be like on you, you must also know about which kind you are using.  Sativa and Indica are both strains of weed. However, one can use different methods to tell them apart. Below are some of the techniques that you can use to tell the two drugs apart.
The Physical Appearance
The first technique you can use to know which is which is through observing the plants and the leaves. The Sativa plant grows up to twenty feet, which is quite tall, and thus it is grown outdoors. Its leaves are longer and much narrower than the Indica leaves. The branches also appear loosely on the plant. As for Indica, the leaves are broad and pretty much the opposite of what appears on Sativa. The Indica plant can grow indoors easily because it is short.
The Difference in Origin

Therefore, depending on where each plant was originally grown, they each grew differently with different appearances.Read more about  Indica and Sativa Strains of Cannabis  at  Quantum 9   . Sativa can be traced back to areas that experience equatorial climate. It does well in areas that have a cool climate. Moreover, the name Sativa came about when the scientist who discovered it, wanted to differentiate the Indian cannabis from the European cannabis. The Indian cannabis is the one that is known as Indica. It was first discovered in India and later on, scientists discovered that other Asian countries around India had the strain as well. The two types of cannabis have their own unique features, which are influenced by where they were originally found.
The Effects
You will be interested to know that each strain has its own individual effects. They all react differently the minute they are used. Indica is known for its calming and relaxing effects while Sativa is known for boosting energy and making a user hyperactive. In fact, Sativa can sometimes cause a user to hallucinate something that Indica does not do. Indica is usually used when someone wants to relax after a long day or when they need to get rid of acute pain.Learn more from  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indica_and_Sativa_Strains_of_Cannabis
